Ja Morant reacts to second NBA suspension in 2023

NBA star Ja Morant issued a statement after the NBA announced he had been suspended again for displaying a gun on social media.

“I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me,” Morant said in the statement. “This is a journey and I know there is still a lot to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full responsibility for my actions. I am determined to keep working on myself.”

In March, he was banned for eight games for showing his gun on social media at a club. After the incident, he apologized to his fans on social media.

“Honestly I feel like we got ourselves into this situation with our past mistakes and now it’s only right that we focus on being smarter and more responsible and holding each other accountable for everything.” said Morant. “I feel like we didn’t know what it was about before. And now I finally have the time to realize everything, to have this time to myself, I realize that now.”
