Ja Rule Speaks Out Against Irv Gotti’s Remarks About Ashanti
Following backlash from the Drink Champs interview, Ja Rule posted a message on Instagram condemning Irv Gotti for his comments about his 20-year relationship with Ashanti.
“Brotherly love… The last few days have been very tumultuous for me, but it’s time to land the plane. I love my sister, I love my brother, but I do not condone or condone the behavior or the way Gotti treated beverage champions. I hope you understand how uncomfortable it is for me to be in the middle of something I don’t want to be,” he wrote.
“Going forward all I ask is that you stay away please and thank you!!! Kind regards, Switzerland Bennett.”
Ashanti commented on the post with several love hearts and high-five emojis.
Gotti made headlines again this week when he claimed Ashanti “ran like a roach” when the FBI came to him in 2005.
“When the FBI hit her, she ran like roaches when you turn on the light,” he said. “She was willing to get the hell out of Murder Inc.’s label, and she was willing to fail me, the person who made her. And yes, I can say that I made them. How do you know I can say that with certainty? The moment I stop making their records. She hasn’t made a hit since.”
