Jake Paul vs Hasim Rahman Jr fight cancellation eerily predicted by former world champion boxer TWO WEEKS AGO | The Sun

The cancellation of JAKE PAUL and Hasim Rahman Jr.’s engagement may come as no surprise to former world champion Shawn Porter.

Paul will face Rahman at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden next weekend.

But after a weight disagreement between the two, the entire pay-per-view event was cancelled.

Rahman was contracted to fight at the 200lb limit of the 14th 4lb cruiser, despite being hit by 16 stones in his final fight in April.

And he must also adhere to a strict rehydration limit when weighing the next day.

So weight champion Porter, 34, predicts the match could collapse due to the weight barrier.

Jake Paul Sensationally SENDED IMMEDIATELY by Chris Eubank Jr After Rahman Jr Fights With an Ax

He told Fight Hub TV two weeks ago: “They’re picking a boxer who just got knocked down but even further he’s higher in weight and they’re going to force him to pull his weight down.

“He’s very knowledgeable about the business of the sport of boxing. Hasim Rahman and his camp understand that he’s trying to get us to knock ourselves out but we just go. here.

“They’ll massage it, Jake Paul, they’ll massage it; they’ll cancel the fight, massage it and assume it’s all Hasim’s fault and they won’t watch the rap for anything.

“He actually has a way of doing this so he covers all of the bases. Even if you consider the rehydration clause, he’s covering all of his bases.”

Due to Rahman’s weight loss, the New York State Athletic Commission wanted to track his progress.

With just a week of launch, NYSAC changed the combat weight to 205lb, says Paul.

But once Rahman was said to have asked to come in at 215lb, the match was soon adjourned.

Paul, 25, said: “I’m devastated. I can’t believe this. We just heard the news.

“This is just another case of a professional boxer who, like Tommy Fury, was scared to fight me.

I never said that I don’t want this war, the only thing I can conclude is that they are scared.

“It’s clear as day that these guys have worked so unprofessionally that, looking for any excuse to make more money from this event. To force us to work.

“And from the jump, I knew from the bottom of my heart that these guys didn’t want to be in the ring with me, it was clear as day.”

But Rahman hit back: “I’m going to hit this man with one hand like I did in the gym, but let him tell that he hit my ass in the gym when I have 230lb left.

“So if you hit me when I’m 230lb, does it matter if you hit me when I’m 215lb or 210lb?

“Obviously they don’t want to fight, not that I pull out. I never said I don’t want this fight, the only thing I can conclude is that they are scared.

“They tried to take me down, I told them I wouldn’t be relegated to cruiser, it was an astronomical feat from the start.”
