Black Twitter is going crazy this morning after popular dancehall artist Shensea declared that in 2023 “women are the new men,” Media Take Out has learned.
The artist’s latest tweets are provoking a lively debate on Black Twitter. Sharing her thoughts on the advancement of women in today’s society, she has now seemingly completely replaced the need for men.
The tweet shared on her account read, “Women are unfortunately the new men.”
That statement caused many people, especially men, to react negatively, Media Take Out confirmed. The statements implied that men’s existence was not important except when it was convenient for women.
“When you all come on social media and say stuff like that, do you really expect men to give up their seat on the bus, still expect us to stop and help you change apartments, still expect that from us ? run to your rescue and fend off robbers, rapists, etc.,” one person wrote.
“Oh, you mean women are going to build roads, bridges, houses, railroads, schools, hospitals, supermarkets and all the many other amenities that we have in this world?” asked another man.
Some men also accused Shenseea of being hurt and unappreciated as a woman, leading to her statement. “You’re only overly male because you’ve dealt with chimpanzees. It is natural. Find a man you can trust and who really loves you and your perspective will undoubtedly change,” said another person.
This is certainly not the first time Shenseea has sparked controversy when it comes to the dispute between men and women.
Media takeaways reported that Shensea previously shared that she had been raising her son since he was a baby and she was both a mother and father to him. This led to many accusing Shenseea of depriving her son of any contact with his father, although the boy’s biological father has never publicly acknowledged him.
