James Gunn clears up Superman: Legacy Confusion as rewritten by Henry Cavill

James Gunn has cleared up a point of confusion surrounding Henry Cavill’s recast as Superman.
Cavill had played the role of Kryptonian superhero in several DC Comics films including man of Steel, Batman vs SupermanAnd justice league.
Although the actor recently reprized the role in a cameo The Lightning Last year it was confirmed that Cavill will be replaced in the future DC Universe.
The decision should have been his Protector of the Galaxy Director James Gunn, who was named co-chair and co-CEO of DC Studios last year along with producer Peter Safran.
In June, Gunn announced he would be playing Superman in the upcoming film Superman: Legacy from The politician Star David Corenswet. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in 2025.
Gunn originally wrote that Cavill would be recast because Superman: Legacy should focus on a younger version of the character.
“In the early stages, our story will focus on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill,” he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
This week, however, Gunn posted a clarification on social media platform Threads after a fan asked a question about the recent DC release Blue Beetle.
“So clean Blue Beetle At least in the commercial Jaime knows who Superman is and you said Blue Beetle is in your DCU,” they asked. “So is your young Superman movie set in the past?”
