Jamie Carragher winds up Man Utd fans again as he names NINE managers on coach of the year shortlist – with NO Ten Hag

MANCHESTER UNITED fans berated Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher after he left out Erik ten Hag as the candidate for coaching job of the season.
Carragher praised Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi after guiding the Seagulls to a stunning 3-0 win at the Emirates that effectively dashed Arsenal’s hopes of a Premier League title.
The Sky Sports pundit then recommended him along with eight other nominees for the award but didn’t count Ten Hag.
Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Newcastle’s Eddie Howe, Aston Villa’s Unai Emery, Bournemouth’s Gary O’Neil, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, Fulham’s Marco Silva and Julen Lopetegui of Wolves have also been called up.
Carragher tweeted: “What a performance once again by Brighton today, their manager could be manager of the season. Have there ever been so many nominees for this award?!!”
“Pep, Arteta, Howe, De Zerbi, Emery, Frank, O’Neil, Silva, Lopetegui.”
But United fans firmly dismissed Carragher’s shortlist by expressing their disapproval in the comments section.
Red Devils supporters pointed out that Ten Hag is the only Premier League manager to have won a trophy this season after his recent Carabao Cup triumph.
The Dutch tactician took charge of the Manchester giants at a difficult time and still guided them to the FA Cup final and Europa League semi-finals. He’s on his way to a top four finish in the Prem.
One fan tweeted: “Erik ten Hag should be on this list Jamie. Look at where Manchester United came from.”

Another commented: “Why isn’t Erik ten Hag listed?? United had their worst season last year.”
“He’s won the Carabao Cup, reached the European semi-finals, is currently on his way to a top four finish and is in the FA Cup final. I would say he’s doing brilliantly.”
A third wrote: “Why didn’t ETH make this list? This is ridiculous Jamie.”
This fan wrote, “I’m not sure why Ten Hag isn’t even mentioned as a contender.”
“2 cup finals, won the first one and probably reach the top 4 and CL qualifiers! … Certainly a better season than at least half of the managers listed! …”
And he said: “Not a Ten Hag, but all the others in and around him! Unreal – also the only manager to date to have won a trophy.”
