Jason Sudekis Rumored to Join DC Universe as Superhero

Fans were nervous to learn that Sharon Stone, soon to be replaced by Susan Sarandon, would play Victoria Kord in Green beetle, who is said to be the villain. This is not a great sign for Ted Kord, who always ends up dead or kidnapped before he can mentor Xolo Maridueña’s Jaime Reyes.

It is theorized that Victoria may have been Ted Kord’s wife, taking control of her husband’s company, Kord Industries. So either she made Ted Kord a victim of the herbicide or got him tied up in a basement somewhere for Reyes to save.

However, a recent listing for the film should please fans of the classic character, as it indicates that Ted Kord appears in Green beetle and is played by a fan-favorite actor.

Cosmic Circus’ Lizzie Hill discovered a Facebook listing from Bill Marinella Casting that confirms the character Ted Kord will appear in the movie. Green beetle. The post also indicates that the role will be played by Jason Sudeikis, the star of Ted Lasso.

According to Hill, she was able to confirm Ted Kord’s appearance through her own sources, but these sources claim that he will be adapted for flashbacks and only have a small role.

Additionally, the listing also implies that Bruna Marquezine, set to play Xolo Maridueña’s heroine and love interest Jaime Reyes, is related to Ted Kord. However, it is unclear if Marquezine will play Ted Kord’s daughter or another relative.

Who is Victoria Kord?

Considering the age difference between Susan Sarandon and Jason Sudeikis, being 29 years old, she might not have been his wife, unless Ted Kord had died a few decades ago and his appearance in the film. Green beetle really just flashback sequences. Unfortunately, it also makes Victoria becoming Ted’s sister also unlikely, so it leaves only two possible options.

It seems likely that Victoria Kord is either Ted’s mother or his aunt, but the latter seems more likely, since in the comics and cartoons, Ted Kord has a villainous uncle, Jarvis Kord. So it’s expected that Susan Sarandon will play a gender-swapped character.

However, that doesn’t bode well for Ted Kord’s chances of survival because Jarvis indirectly caused Ted’s death in the cartoon, Brave and daring, before Reyes had a chance to meet him. Also, in the comics, while Jarvis didn’t kill Ted Kord, he did kill the Blue Beetle before him, Dan Garret, which is when Ted inherits the superhero title.

Hopefully, Victoria has a reason to keep Ted Kord alive and well so fans can enjoy Jason Sudeikis’ performance as the classic superhero and maybe even team up with Booster Gold.
