BURBANK, California– Jay Leno is recovering from severe burns from a gasoline fire, Variety reported Monday.

According to the publication, the former The Tonight Show host said he’s doing fine and will need a few weeks to “get back on his feet.”

The Burbank Fire Department said the incident happened just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Leno was taken to the Grossman Burn Center for treatment of his injuries. He is reportedly in stable condition.

The Burbank Police Department issued a statement confirming the incident occurred at Leno’s garage in the city of Burbank, but said none of their officers were involved.

“The Burbank Police Department did not respond to the incident, was not requested, nor do we have any information as to what happened or what injuries were sustained,” the agency said.

The host has since canceled all future engagements.
