Jesy Nelson ‘disgusted’ by media coverage of her recent comments about ‘ongoing feuds’ with Little Mix

Jesy Nelson has expressed outrage at the media focusing on her “ongoing feud” with Little Mix rather than her new single.

In a recent interview to promote her latest song “Bad Thing,” the 31-year-old English singer revealed that she hadn’t spoken to her former Little Mix bandmates in over two years.

Since the publication of the article on Monday (April 17) by The sunseveral outlets have picked up on Nelson’s comments about Little Mix.

The next day, the singer addressed the situation in a video posted to her Instagram Stories, angrily saying she “woke up with about twenty-five articles about me and the fact that I haven’t spoken to Little Mix in.” two years and the ‘ongoing feud'”.

“They’re just fucking cops***. I just feel like women in music are being pitted against each other 24/7 and I hate it. I think it’s disgusting,” Nelson said.

“And it’s really frustrating that when you actually go in there to talk about something that’s really close to my heart and means something, then it’s all taken out of context.”

Closing the video on a more positive note, she continued, “Anyway, I want to bring back that I made a song that I really care about.

She explained that her song and music video are intended to “raise awareness of domestic violence.”

“It’s such an important topic that I don’t think it’s talked about enough,” she added.

“And that’s what the interview should be about. But yeah, we were told, ‘Sorry, that didn’t get enough views, so we wanted to do it about the girls’.”

Bad Thing is out now.

Nelson has been part of the British girl group since their formation in 2011 The x factoralong with fellow members Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

She left the band in 2020 due to the tribute, which she said “takes a toll on her mental health.”
