Jim Jones ponders breakup with Roc-A-Fella

In a recent interview, Jim Jones reflected on the dissolution of Roc-A-Fella and its impact on New York.

“The confusion surrounding Roc-A-Fella’s split has done a lot of damage to New York music. Remember, Roc-A-Fella had so many different styles of music. They had The Diplomats, they had State Property, they had Brooklyn sh-t. They were really a big influence on East Coast music, so when this shit started happening,” he explained.

Capo and Hitmaka appeared on DJ Self’s show to promote them Back in my prime Album. Hitmaka has produced all of the hits…although some have suggested he doesn’t make any hits of his own.

Last week legendary producer Pete Rock tweeted and modern rappers dissed. Many assumed the tweet was about Hitmaka.

“They resample rap and R&B records that were only made 3-4 years ago [crying laughing face emoji] No digging for the hits they sample which has been a hit recently lol [shrug emoji]’ he wrote via Twitter.
