John Cena Makes Sad WWE PPV Announcement

WWE star John Cena could be back soon. He returned to the company last month to build a feud with US WWE Champion Austin Theory. The two went head-to-head in the opening match of WrestleMania 39’s Night One, where the rising star controversially won.

After the match, Cena expressed his gratitude to the fans present and waved to the crowd, which led many to believe he could end up wrestling professionally. However, the chance of that happening is very small at the moment. Billi Bhatti recently reported that he met Cena and said, “he’s unlikely to be in SummerSlam.”

John Cena is rumored to face Logan Paul

It was previously reported that WWE was considering Cena against Logan Paul for a two-night event in Los Angeles, but those plans fell through. Wrestle Votes insider gave an update on that bout in a new interview with GiveMeSport, say that both sides still want to do it at some point and that can happen at the earliest SummerSlam on August 5 in Detroit.

“Logan liked the idea and Cena was completely disappointed. They made a lot of money and it was only a matter of when. They want to tell a good story because they are superstars, so there must be a reason. The matches were very exciting, even at SummerSlam. All parties involved want to do that,” the insider said.
