Joseph Staten may be teasing about classic maps returning to Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite was missing new maps and content in the eyes of players. It’s been a long time coming to new modes and maps, and a lot of the most promising stuff like co-op campaign and Forge mode is still far away. Thankfully, Joseph Staten, head of innovation at 343 Industries and a longtime developer of Halo teased that fans can expect some classics Halo map generates return.

Staten recently appeared on Katherine Funny Xcast for an in-depth interview about the current state of Halo Infinite and what’s in store for the future. Parris Lilly asked how it would be possible for older people Halo map to return Halo Infinitea question that many people in the community are wondering.

Staten responded by saying, “I can talk about some things, but I can’t talk about others.” Continuing, he said: “There are some Halo map. I think we all have our own personal favorites. Guardian, Blood Cellar, Pit. There are a lot of great maps, right? I think it would be great to play on those maps again, wouldn’t it? That sounds like an interesting thing.”

This has yet to be officially confirmed, but Staten’s playful tone hints that something could be in the works. Maps like The Pit and Guardian are fan favorites for Halo veterans, so we hope this comes true.

As much as possible

Halo Infinite launched with a total of 10 maps and it introduced two new maps at the launch of Season 2. However, while players are enjoying Catalyst and Breaker, it’s hard to imagine that these maps will be enough to satisfy players for another six months until the start of Season 3.

The introduction of new modes has also helped make existing maps even more replayable. Last Spartan Standing was met with mostly positive reception like Halowill participate in a smaller scale battle royale. New playlist updates introduced in Season 2 added cool variant modes like Ninja Slayer and Vampireball.

Team 343 is aware that content is everything to a game that serves as live Halo Infiniteso hopefully those classic maps can come out sooner rather than later.
