Tokyo Reverger Chapter 253 sees the return of Takemichi’s ability to see visions of the future. This was last seen during Draken’s death, and its reappearance maintains continuity in the series, an achievement for which Wakui has often been criticized. Trains are once again established as a recurring motif in the series.
However, the future looks bleak for the members of the Tokyo Manji Gang. Not only were they defeated in individual battles, Takemichi’s visions revealed a dark fate from which they had little chance of escaping.

Tokyo Revengers chapter 253 shows Toman members losing their individual battle, Takemichi has a different vision
In the previous chapter, Mikey defeats Pah-Chin while the latter reminds him that everyone wants to see him happy. Kokonoi eventually decided to follow Inui as they fought Wakasa and Benkei. Hanma defeats Hakkai and Akkun with ease and moves on to fight Mitsuya and Chifuyu.
Tokyo Reverger Chapter 253 is titled “The worst has come. ”
Mikey vs Peh-Yan and the Kawata Twins
Tokyo Reverger Chapter 253 shows Peh-Yan calling Mikey after Pah-Chin’s defeat and challenging him to a fight. He is joined by twins Kawata, Angry and Smiley. Mikey remains emotionless as ever, and brutally beats Peh-Yan and Smiley.
Angry is frightened by Mikey’s lack of sympathy for his old friends. He is seen crying, but he does not enter Blue Ogre mode. Mikey calmly tells him that it’s over for him, but it’s unclear if he’ll ever defeat Angry.
Koko and Inupi vs living legends
In other places, Tokyo Reverger Chapter 253 sees Inui being brutally beaten by Benkei. Benkei shows no mercy, which is interrupted by Wakasa’s attitude. Wakasa praises Kokonoi for resisting them before taking him down.
Kokonoi and Inui fall to the ground in a similar arrangement to the yin and yang symbols. This, combined with Koko’s statement from the final chapter about going to hell together, has fans worried about their fate. Around them, members of the Kantou Manji gang cheered on Toman’s continued losses.
Hanma’s Sweeping and Takemichi’s Sins
Hanma can be easily seen dodging Chifuyu and knocking him down. He praises himself for sweeping and reveals that he also defeated Mitsuya. All four people he challenged were seen lying unconscious on the ground.
Takemichi grows increasingly frustrated to see his members lose. He falls into a spiral and begins to question his enthusiasm, believing it to be a reckless move. Kakucho grows increasingly angry at Takemichi’s wandering focus, and is humiliated that Chairman Toman is not focused on their fight.
Enraged, Kakucho punches Takemichi and sends him flying into the train tracks. In desperation, Takemichi grabbed onto the rails to pull himself up, and immediately gained visions of the future. He saw an oncoming train that rammed and killed every member of Toman, except Senju.
Haruchiyo seemed to be operating the train. He laughs and tells Takemichi that he killed everyone because they bothered him. Takemichi was pushed out of his sight and began to doubt Haruchiyo’s motives. Final notes from Tokyo Reverger Chapter 253 suggests that Haruchiyo may have a more sinister goal.
With their strong lineup, it was absurd for Kantou to lose to Toman. Once Mikey, Hanma, Wakasa, and Benkei get into battle seriously, Toman could face some important challenges. However, many questions regarding how this alliance came to be have remained unanswered since Tokyo Reverger chapter 253.
The chance for Hanma and Mikey to become time-travelers is increasing with each chapter. Mikey had entered a trance that perhaps even Takemichi could not break. Hanma’s origins and motives remain as unclear as ever, especially regarding his sudden obedience to Mikey.
Haruchiyo’s motives are also unknown, and his actions in view seem more extreme than usual. As many readers have pointed out, Senju is not seen in sight in Tokyo Reverger chapter 253, and as such, can still act to change the future. Another theory is that like Draken, Senju might accept a future not her own in order to save those she cares about.
Tokyo Reverger Chapter 253 helps Wakui maintain the continuity of Takemichi’s temporary power. Future vision was a controversial concept when Wakui first introduced it at the end Tenjiku arc, and is one of the few things that justifies the continuation of Bonten arc.
