Mother-of-five Katie has failed to keep up with her £1,200 monthly repayments to pay off the large sum she owes to multiple creditors.

Despite being officially declared bankrupt, she spent £1.3 million on her Sussex home – the so-called ‘Mucky Mansion’ – nine years ago.

The block is now worth over £2 million – and the trustees managing its bankruptcy are debating whether to sell to clear the debts.

Well-known celebrity artist Katie was expected to present her case today and explain to the court how she plans to pay off her debts or prove she needs the property as crucial to her work.

But when she logged on via the webcam link, she flew into a rage against the other panelists before the hearing could even begin.

Katie claimed that members of the public were taking screenshots of her on “tattle sites” to “screw me”.

Cameras are not allowed in the courtroom and screenshots of online hearings are also banned, meaning anyone caught doing so could face jail time.

She told the judge: “Your picture has already been put on this smear site and they are talking about it.”

“My anxiety levels have increased. There are people here who shouldn’t be here.”

“I’m just protecting you and myself.”

A woman who attended the hearing online told the court she was just an interested member of the public, adding: “That’s not what I said.” [up] any screenshots.”

Katie shot back: “You’re here to fuck with me. I’m afraid to be here because of these people.”

“These are terrible people. I am getting scared.”

“I’m petrified.”

His Honor Judge Paul Greenwood then ordered anyone not attending the hearing to leave the conversation – acknowledging that they had lost control – and the conversation was now private.

He said: “I’m not entirely sure I can retain control of the hearing or the dissemination of the hearing.”

“I will exclude anyone who is not a party from listening to this short hearing in private.”

“I cannot be certain that the integrity of the hearing will not be compromised by the broadcast.

“In order for it to be carried out, I will direct that it will take place privately.

“Anyone who is not a party must leave the meeting.”

Legal notices previously posted on Katie’s property prevent her from selling the house herself.

An earlier brief hearing at a specialist insolvency and companies court in London was told the public inquiry into her finances had been adjourned.

Katie was not present on this occasion and was not represented.

However, according to lawyer Darragh Connell, the trustees asked for the interview to be reopened after she breached a payment agreement.

Last month, Katie insisted she was “not broke” during a Q&A session on a TikTok livestream with her followers.

She said: “I live in my own £2.2million house, it’s mine, no one can ever take it away from me.”

“I wouldn’t call it broke, would I?”

She later addressed the issue again and said: “Actually, I’m not poor, quite the opposite, but thank you.”

And in January she said that declaring bankruptcy was “not the end of the world”, adding: “A lot of people go bankrupt and I think it’s quite good that I’m bankrupt – that’s what made me do that “To re-evaluate things.”
