Katy Perry Wasn’t Planning on Having Children Before Meeting Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry say meeting Orlando Bloom has completely changed her life for the better because he is the optimistic foil in her more spiritual moments and the reason she even considers motherhood.

The pop star sat down to chat with Chelsea Handler for the premiere of season three of the comedian’s podcast Dear Chelsea in which they discussed the fiancé’s carefully positive attitudes. Perry explains, “I always say when he walks into the room, he has this joie de vivre for him and some people ask, ‘What is he doing? “” this is happy, has a vibe, and I’m a bit hot-headed and prone to depression in some ways — and so it’s good for me to be with him because he helps get me out of my mind his own a little bit. ”

And Bloom not only made her more present, but the actor also helped convince her to give up motherhood. “I don’t really look like my mother, and I think that probably stems from some childhood story,” the singer explained. But after seeing firsthand what the outstanding father Bloom has been to his son Flynnwhom he shares with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr, she began to change her mind about building a family together. She said, “I got to see what a wonderful dad he was to his first child, Flynn, now 11 years old. So that definitely affected me. There was something inside of me that said, ‘You. Mid 30’s. This man is so good. Had to breed,” added, “He’s a nice guy. ”

Since deciding to have a child together, Perry says their daughter Daisy Dove has completely “reshaped” [her] life,” call her “the best decision I have made in my entire life,” and the source of all her happiness. “I think your definition of success in your 20s is materialistic and ego driven, and it’s all jazz,” she clarified. “Then the 30s hit and you care less, and maybe there’s an inner confidence that starts to develop. Then, as a mother… my definition of success is just her happiness. Her happiness really gives me that joy… A lot of new doctors fall back. The things that you think are important are never really important. You don’t have time for any unimportant energetic movies in your family. Your family really starts to be the first. ” The Grammy winner concluded: “My daughter has reshaped my life, my perspective. She gave me a love I never had before… I always wanted that love, it was my number one coin, and then when she came, it was like, ‘I love you. No reason. Just because you are. ‘ I said, ‘What? And you don’t need anything from me? In addition to some food? “
