Ken Jennings, Mayim Bialik to split ‘Jeopardy!’ host duties

What is “A Shared Spotlight”?

“Danger!” Fans and attendees will get a double helping of hosts, with both Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings sharing hosting responsibilities for the upcoming 39th season of the trivia show. According to Deadline, Jennings and Bialik are working on a deal to split the hosting role.

Representatives from producer Sony Pictures Television declined to comment.

Neither Bialik nor Jennings are strangers to Jeopardy! Stage. Both acted as hosts during the last season. The “Big Bang Theory” star and the “Jeopardy!” The champ rotated with other household names including fan favorite LeVar Burton, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos.

Former “Danger!” executive producer Mike Richards had also stepped in as host before leaving the series after his earlier problematic comments about women, Jews and little people came to light.

Together, Bialik and Jennings will fill in the footsteps of the beloved, longtime Jeopardy! Host Alex Trebek, who died of pancreatic cancer in November 2020. He was 80.

At this point, Bialik — who has a PhD in neuroscience — is a “Jopardy!” hosting vet. In addition to her duties in Season 38, the Call Me Kat star hosted the show’s first Professors Tournament in December 2021 and will most likely return to host Celebrity Jeopardy!

Jennings is a 74-time Jeopardy! champ who returned to the series as consulting producer in September 2020, just months before Trebek’s death.
