Kenneth Winston Starr – WSJ

Ken Starr, the independent attorney in the 1990s who investigated President Clinton, died this week in Houston at the age of 76, and the story to understand is that what the Democrats blame him for, ultimately was Mr. Clinton. Starr was an excellent lawyer: an appellate judge, a US Attorney General, a credible Supreme Court contender.

In 1994, he accepted a desperate job as an independent consultant in the Whitewater investigation into the Clintons’ real estate deals. the same year Paula Jones sued Mr Clinton for sexual harassment. Finally, a judiciary and an attorney general Janet Reno agreed to expand Starr’s assignment. “I was hired by the attorney general to do a job,” he said in 1998, “and that was to find out if there were any crimes committed in this sexual harassment case.” Kenneth Winston Starr – WSJ
