Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant is extremely active on social media… and now he’s added a new platform to his repertoire.
Durant joined TikTok on Friday as “2way3level” — and amassed 67,000 followers as of Saturday morning. The username is likely a reference to a specific type of build in the video game NBA 2K22, an all-around superstar archetype that fits well with Durant’s real-world playstyle.
It’s been an interesting offseason for Durant. After the Nets were defeated by the Boston Celtics in the playoffs, speculation swirled about the future of him and teammate Kyrie Irving with the team. Despite the fact that Durant signed a four-year, maximum $198 million extension in August 2021, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that Durant Nets owner Joe Tsai has asked to be traded from the franchise. It’s definitely a deficit for a team that, with Durant, Irving and James Harden, should be the next iteration of an NBA super team. Due to various factors, the trio only played 16 games together – at a tempting 13-3 – before Harden was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Durant’s NBA future is still uncertain, but he hasn’t lost his sense of humor, as evidenced by his first post on TikTok.
