Kevin Federline’s videos of Spears being a mom backfire

you just would have to post these parenting videos, Kevin Federline.

Britney Spears’ public row with her ex-husband escalated late Wednesday night when Federline uploaded three videos taken by the ex-spouses’ sons, Jayden and Sean Federline, as their mother, ahem, mothered them. The videos were from four years ago when the boys were 11 and 12 years old.

“I cannot sit back and allow my sons to be blamed in this way after what they have been through. As much as it hurts, we decided as a family to post these videos,” Federline, 44, commented on the videos on Instagram. “That’s not even the worst of it. The lies have to stop. I hope our kids get better than that.”

In the short clips, as described by Page Six, Spears chastises one of her boys for going into an ice cream parlor barefoot, and in another video she tells a son to respect her — it’s her house, she says severe – when she enters his room to give him lotion for his “rough” face.

In the third video, Spears and sons Jayden and Sean argue over who is interrupting who, with Jayden saying to his mother, “I think you only care about yourself because you won’t let us speak a word and you won’t let us go, wherever we want.”

Federline has since removed the videos, perhaps in response to backlash. As of Thursday afternoon, his Instagram account had zero posts.

“It’s so bizarre that Kevin Federline posts videos of Britney’s kids ‘arguing’ with her, where they’re just her parents while being insanely disrespectful to her,” said cultural critic and feminist author Roxane Gay tweeted Thursday. “How… good for her to know what it means for parents.”

“Dear Kevin Federline. They released a “devastating” video of a mother being a mother. Sometimes moms have – gasping – reactions.” tweeted Ally Reid, radio host in Albany, New York “You could discipline by taking things away or asking for respect. It’s shocking, but sometimes mothers fight with their children.”

“Kevin Federline is a pathetic excuse for a father. That’s all,” tweeted Skylanders Academy voice actor Greg Ellis.

The drama began over the weekend after the Daily Mail published tidbits from Federline’s forthcoming ITV tell-all interview.

“The guys have decided that they don’t see her at the moment,” Federline said. “It’s been a few months since you’ve seen her. They made the decision in June not to go to Sam Asghari for their wedding.

He also said Sean and Jayden had been affected by their mother’s habit of regularly posting near-nude photos to her Instagram account.

“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe this is just another way she’s trying to express herself.’ But that doesn’t change the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough,” Federline told ITV. “I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in high school as a teenager.”

Federline and wife Victoria share parenting responsibilities to the teenagers, as well as daughters Jordan, 11, and Peyton, 8. Federline’s older children with Shar Jackson — Kori, 20, and Kaleb, 18 — visit frequently, the Daily Mail said.

Spears’ ex was initially given full custody of Sean and Jayden after the couple’s divorce in 2007, but that arrangement has changed over the years to allow for more visits from the pop star. The boys recently told their mother that they spend most of their time with their father.

Following Federline’s recent comments, Spears chimed in on her Instagram Story this week. which has since expired, and said in part, “I have a hard time letting go of things I really love … like my kids. The situation should have been 100 percent private and definitely not online!!!”

She continued, writing, “Yes, I know teenagers are just hard to deal with at this age…but COME ON, there’s rudeness, then there’s HATEFUL…they would come visit me, walk to the door, go straight to her room and close the door!!! That [court-appointed] MONITOR would tell me that he just likes to be in his room…I think why do you come visit me if they don’t even visit me!!! But I never said that because I have to be nice!!!”

She also filed charges of marijuana use at the Federline house, writing, “I can guarantee you this house has more weed than Ludacris, 50 Cent, Jay Z, and Puff Daddy combined!” (This comment got her some backlash because she only mentioned black artists.)

“I can’t process how I’ve dedicated 20 years of my life to these kids…it was all about them!!!” Spears wrote as the post neared its end. “For them to take my breath away… see you can’t fix me!!! No therapy or worship can mend my heart!!! I’ll always have trauma and I know that, I’ve accepted it.”

Spears’ attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, had none of what Federline was selling and said in a statement Thursday that he would not tolerate bullying from his client.

“Whether he realizes it or not, Mr. Federline has not only violated the privacy and dignity of his children’s mother, he has also undermined his own children, whose privacy he should protect,” the attorney said.

“Apart from his ITV interview, Mr Federline’s unwise decision to release an old video of his 11 and 12-year-old children was cruel, the end of the barrel. It was hideous. Not only has he demeaned himself and violated societal norms, but he has also created various legal problems for himself, including but not limited to being implicated in cyber harassment and cyberbullying laws.”

Rosengart said he is working with Instagram to ensure Federline is sticking to his rules and is exploring “all reasonable relief against him.”

“Meanwhile, as Britney aptly said herself, everything that happens between her and her boys should remain private,” he added. “We urge Mr. Federline to act with a measure of decency and decency and to stop discussing private matters publicly, which benefits no one.”
