Killer Mike spent $500,000 of his own money to make the Michael album

Killer Mike says he spent half a million dollars of his own money on his new upcoming album Michael.

“So me and Cuz just do a mixtape. We will publish it via Mass Appeal. That way it will help you get there. We start working and Cuz was like, “Man, we’re making some serious, deadly records.” I’ll tell you what we’re gonna do: your solo record. I’m about to pause my career. And we’ll put your solo record together,” he said in a recent interview.

He said he told his wife about his dilemma and she asked him what he would do. She wasn’t happy that he was spending so much money on a music project…which was his first solo project in over 10 years.

“She’s like, ‘Well, n-gga, I’m glad you got your money back because I’ve got some issues that you’re spending a frigging half a million dollars on a dream project.'”

Michael next Friday and features features from Andre 3000, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, El-P, Dave Chappelle and more.
