Killers of the Flower Moon ‘Trailer’ has movie fans in hysterics

A new “trailer” for Martin Scorsese Killer of the Flower Moon has gone viral.

The director’s next film, an adaptation of David Grann’s bestseller of the same name, was first announced in 2018.

Shortly after filming began in 2021, Apple TV Plus released a still showing Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone as Ernest Burkhart and his wife Mollie, respectively.

To date, this picture is the only one that has been released, although the film will premiere in Cannes in May. A cinema and streaming release will follow in October and November.

Twitter user @KevinGeeksOut shared a fake trailer with a detailed look at the still as the dramatic score of the 2001 film The American Astronaut plays.

“I knew what was going to happen, but I still laughed,” one person said of the fake trailer, and another agreed, “I knew it was coming, but I still laughed.”

Another added: “I clicked on the video knowing exactly what to expect and of course I wasn’t disappointed.”

Killer of the Flower Moon follows an FBI investigation into a series of murders that afflicted the Osage Indian tribe of Oklahoma in the 1920s after oil was found on their land.

The film will be five minutes shorter than Scorsese’s previous film The Irishmanwhich lasted three and a half hours.

In 2021, it was revealed that Plemons had taken on the role originally designed for DiCaprio after the latter “fought” with screenwriter Eric Roth.

DiCaprio was originally slated to play Tom White, the FBI agent investigating a series of murders. The role he is playing now was the one he originally wanted.
