Kim Kardashian and Ye, who was formerly Kanye West, filed an agreement on Tuesday specifying who gets what in their divorce — including custody of the children.
As part of their divorce settlement, the rapper-designer must pay the reality star and beauty mogul $200,000 a month in child support, according to a dissolution document filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The couple married in May 2014 and separated in late 2020. Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021. And while the divorce was being worked out in court, in March a judge granted Kardashian’s motion to be legally single and drop “West.” from her name. Ye had opposed their requests leading up to the decision.
Since their split, the pair have had a falling out over how to co-parent their children. Earlier this year, Ye made his grievances public in a series of social media posts, in which he verbally attacked Kardashian, her family and then-boyfriend Pete Davidson. He has since apologized for the post.
In a Good Morning America interview with ABC News’ Linsey Davis, Ye said he “had had to fight for” more authority over the upbringing of their children.
The former spouses have agreed to joint custody of North, 9; Saint, who turns 7 next week; Chicago, 4; and Psalm 3.
Both must give consent to things like the children’s school attendance, non-urgent doctor’s appointments, extracurricular or religious activities, where the children live and obtaining driver’s licenses, court documents say. The former spouses can celebrate special occasions such as birthdays together with the children.
The two also agreed to each pay half of their children’s expenses, medical care, college tuition and security, according to court documents.
As children grow older, they will also have a say in how involved each parent should be in their lives, documents say.
In the months following their split, Ye lived alone on the couple’s 1,400-acre Wyoming ranch, while Kardashian mostly stayed with the kids at their luxurious but spartan Hidden Hills mansion. Ye came home to visit family and eventually bought a house nearby.
The divorce papers also offer a glimpse into the former couple’s net worth. A prenuptial agreement establishes who owns what of their various properties, belongings, stocks, and bank accounts. Ye and Kardashian own 19 separate properties in four different states, including mansions, condos, estates, ranches, office space and vacant lots in expensive Southern California zip codes.
According to court documents, Kardashian will keep her Hidden Hills mansion along with nearby residential lots and homes in Malibu and Idaho.
Ye owns his own mansion in Hidden Hills just a block from Kardashians, a beach house in Malibu, office space, condos, open wilderness lots in Calabasas and his massive ranch in Cody, Wyo.
The agreement also covers various personal items owned by each party, such as furniture, vehicles, art, clothing, antiques, handbags and furs.
The couple waived their right to seek spousal support, according to documents.
Though Ye dated other women and was engaged to designer Alexis Phifer, his relationship with Kardashian was his only marriage. The businesswoman was previously married twice, first to music producer Damon Thomas and then to former NBA player Kris Humphries. Marriage #2 famously ended after just 72 days.
