King Charles & Prince William ‘won’t give Harry the apology he wants because ill will is still boiling over in family’

KING Charles and Prince William are refusing to give Harry the apology he is demanding over ongoing family tensions, it was reported last night.

Sources sympathetic to the royal dilemma have described the situation as a “toxic standoff”.

It will be just over 70 days before the King is crowned along with the Queen Consort on May 6th.

And with the Sussex camp still having no confirmation on whether the couple will attend the royal event, the Daily Mail reports how “icy family relations still remain”.

It is said that neither Charles nor William are in the mood to comply with Harry’s demands for his last round of attacks.

“There is still a lot of resentment brewing in the family,” a source said.

The number of ceremonies was drastically reduced from the 8,251 guests attending the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 to make the event more streamlined in the face of the cost of living crisis.

Save-the-date cards will be sent out in two weeks to the 2,000 guests chosen to attend the Spring Celebration.

Formal invitations to those who have indicated they will accept will be mailed three weeks prior to the event.

It is reported that Harry, 38, has long had an “open” invitation to all family events as a member of the royal family, despite stepping down from official duties.

Though the olive branch is still stretched out to Harry and his wife Meghan, it is being stretched to the limit by the couple’s repeated attacks on the family.

The couple have continued to criticize family members through their Netflix documentary, Harry’s memoir, and numerous critical television and print interviews.

Journalist Omid Scobie, who has close ties to the couple, claimed this week that “no one knows their plans at the moment – the couple have yet to be invited and cannot make a decision or an itinerary until that happens.”

However, a source says Harry has made it clear he wants an “apology” from Charles and William before he will attend.

Harry’s insistence that he and his wife apologize before a reconciliation can begin has become a major sticking point for both the king and his elder son.

A source said: “What do you want the family to apologize for?

“As the late Queen said, memories may vary.”

Another source said it was likely that there would be talks between the two camps in the coming weeks over agreements for May.

But they warned: “I don’t think His Majesty is interested in apologizing for anything at this time.

“But on the contrary.

“There is still a lot of resentment in the family.

“Discussions could still take place in the next few weeks [over the Sussexes’ attendance], I’m sure of that, but they’ll be waiting a very long time for an apology. There is a lot of pain [at Harry’s actions].”
