League of Legends patch 12.14 notes: Healing changes, more Sivir & Zeri nerfs

League of Legends patch 12.14 is coming, and Riot is promising it as their “last set of major non-worlds balance changes.” Zeri is being nerfed (again), while Riot aims to shake up the jungle meta with Pantheon and Qiyana, and the dominance of Enchanter supports: here are the patch notes.

We are now more than halfway through Season 12 and Riot has informed players not to expect much from the post LoL patch 12.14 balancing updates. There will still be small updates ⁠ – no less ahead of Worlds ⁠ – but all eyes are on big changes in preseason.

That means there’s a lot to clean up in this update. Gangplank’s long-awaited changes? Check. A complete overhaul of Dragon Priority? Yes. More Zeri nerfs? Of course ⁠— it’s season 12.

With Enchanter supports also dominating the meta with the highest winrates in its class, Riot is taking a broad approach to item healing, as well as additional nerfs to three champions in Janna, Renata Glasc, and Yuumi.

Zeri faces more nerfs in LoL patch 12.14 – her 12th set of changes in 12 patches.

When is LoL patch 12.14?

League of Legends Patch 12.14 is ready to go live July 31, 2022on schedule after Riot’s extended vacation pushed back the previous update by a week.

The fourteenth major patch of 2022 will roll out to the Oceanic servers at 10:00 AM AEST, with a global rollout taking place throughout the rest of the day.

Here are the key times:

  • 03:00 CEST (NA)
  • 5am ​​GMT (EUW)
  • 3 a.m. CET (EUNE)
  • 08:00 KST (Korea)

There will be a few hours of downtime when patching begins and matchmaking queues will be taken offline approximately three hours beforehand.

What’s changing in LoL Patch 12.14?

Riot overhauls healing with big enchanter nerfs

It seems like an eternity ago ⁠ – almost two months now ⁠ – but players are still feeling the impact of the League of Legends durability update. Riot has promised small updates since improving every champion’s tankiness, and LoL patch 12.14 aims to deliver a healing overhaul.

When champions have more innate defenses, heals and shields become even more powerful to prolong fights. This has resulted in games stalling for far longer than anything else in recent history (though not quite into Season 6).

The next update will nerf almost every aspect of healing, from health potions to support runes to individual champion heals and shields. Yuumi is the main champion to target, as well as items like Forbidden Idol, with Riot looking to nerf the Enchanter meta for support.

Sivir and Zeri took aim again

Zeri can’t seem to stay out of the League of Legends patch notes. LoL patch 12.14 is no different as the Spark of Zaun receives its 12th set of changes since its release. The devs remove the bonus damage on her right click and convert it to a lower threshold execution. Your damage on hits is tanked to compensate.

The same goes for Sivir, who has already faced a nerf since their mid-scope update for LoL patch 12.13. Shuriman Archer landed way too strong for Riot’s liking, and another nerf to her Wave Clear is in the works with nerfs to her W, Ricochet.

Gnar, Renata Glasc, and Yuumi are also primed for nerfs. Alistar, Pantheon, and legendary scout himself Teemo top the buffs list for LoL patch 12.14.

More Star Guardian skins as the event progresses

The Star Guardian story event is still ongoing, and Riot is adding some new faces to the Valoran City squad to try and fight back against Zoe.

Five new Star Guardians will be added to the list:

  • Star Guardian Akali
  • Star Guardian Quinn
  • Star Guardian Rell
  • Star Guardian Syndra Prestige Edition
  • Star Guardian Taliyah

The forces of evil also get some reinforcements as Star Nemesis Morgana joins Fiddlesticks as a new antagonist in this version of Star Guardian.

Each of the new skins will receive nine chromas each, while the legacy skin, Star Guardian Jinx, will receive a special Mythic chroma as part of LoL patch 12.14.
