LeBron James questionable to play tonight vs. Knicks

LeBron James was upgraded to questionable on the Lakers’ injury report for Tuesday night’s game against the New York Knicks, while Anthony Davis is listed as likely.

James (sore left foot), who is 117 points from surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s career leader, and Davis (right foot stress injury) sat out Monday’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

When will LeBron James become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer?

A look at LeBron James’ pursuit of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time record.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar Score: 38,387

LeBron James Points: 38,271

Points from record: 117 points

Expected games to record: 5

Planned deadline: February 7 against thunder

Davis returned to the lineup with a loss in Boston on Saturday after missing 20 games with the foot injury.

The Lakers will be without Patrick Beverley, who has left knee pain, and Austin Reaves (left hamstring), who will miss his 14th straight game.

The Lakers, 23-28 and 2½ games from postseason position, continue their five-game journey Thursday against the Indiana Pacers and Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Lakers are returning home to play the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 7 and the Milwaukee Bucks on February 9. James is on track to overtake Abdul-Jabbar in one of those games if he returns to the lineup against the Knicks or Pacers.
