Legendary Actor James Caan Dies At 82!

James Caan, the legendary actor best known for his roles in films including ‘The Godfather’, ‘Brian’s Song’ and ‘Misery’ has died. James’ Twitter account said: “It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Jimmy on the evening of July 6th in privacy at this difficult time.”

Caan’s breakthrough came in 1972 when he played Sonny in The Godfather. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and a Golden Globe. He came back for the role in The Godfather II.

James has also appeared in films such as Dick Tracy and Elf, where he played Will Ferrel’s buddy’s father.

Born in the Bronx, he played football at Michigan State University and was a fixture at the Playboy Mansion in the ’70s and ’80s, where he enjoyed partying and was never afraid to speak his mind.

He has 5 children including Scott Caan who starred in the updated version of Hawaii Five-0 as well as films like Varsity Blues.

James was married to Linda Stokes from 1995 to 2009.

Rest in Peace Jacob. He was 82 years old.
