Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania Traffic: 3 tractor-trailers collide on I-78 westbound in Lower Saucon Township

At least two of the tractor units had buckled; one drove into an embankment.

LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pennsylvania (WPVI) — A three semi-trailer accident has shut down a portion of westbound I-78 in the Lehigh Valley.

The accident happened just before 3 a.m. Monday on the freeway in Lower Saucon Township between Route 33 and Route 412, the Hellertown exit.

At least two of the tractor units had buckled; one drove into an embankment.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash is under further investigation.

I-78 WB remains closed in the area while police conduct investigations and crews work to clear the scene.
