Mongolian rocker, The Hu, today (May 13) shared their feverish new single, ‘This Is Mongol’ – see below.

The song is another preview of their upcoming second studio album, set to be released later this year through Better Noise Music.

Talking about the video, the band’s singer and tumur hhuur Jaya said: “We shot in the Mojave Desert, Nevada and the environment reminded us of the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. We love taking video, it happened during our tour and it gives us a little break to reminisce about our hometown.

“The song fits perfectly with the environment in which we made the video. It’s one of the best memories we’ve made as a band and it’s special because of producer Dashka. Our team was with us to oversee the whole process.”

Hu previously shared a cover of Metallica’s ‘Sad But True’ in Mongolian.

They joined in the song, hearing them use traditional Mongolian instruments along with their signature throat singing style. The same distorted guitar tune from the original song helps propel the song forward, but the folk rock band sings the lyrics in their native Mongolian language.
