The 2023 NBA All-Star Game will be held on February 19 at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City. This season’s game marks the 30th anniversary of the first NBA All-Star Game hosted by the Utah Jazz in 1993.

NBA All-Star Weekend begins Friday, February 17 with the Celebrity Game and Rising Stars Challenge. NBA All-Star Saturday features the Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest, and Slam Dunk Contest. This year will also feature the NBA HBCU Classic with a game between Grambling State and Southern on February 18th.

NBA All-Star starters were announced on TNT Jan. 26, with reserves to be announced Feb. 2. This is the sixth straight season that the All-Star Game has used a “draft” format, in which the top performers from each conference vote -getter will serve as captain and create a roster from the remaining 22 players.

However, this will mark the first year that this draft will be broadcast as a live segment on TNT just moments before the game begins.

This year’s All-Star Game will be the fourth to use the target value — the leading team’s score after the third quarter plus 24 points — and the fourth quarter will be played without a game clock.

2023 NBA All-Star Roster

The All-Star starters have been announced, and Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James will be team captains.

Fans make up 50% of the vote, while NBA players and a media panel each make up 25%. TNT will announce the reserves selected by the NBA head coaches on Thursday, February 2nd.

James and Antetokounmpo will select their teams in a draft just before the All-Star Game. This year, TNT will air the All-Star Draft as a new live pregame segment on Sunday, February 19th.

James has captained each of the five seasons that the NBA has used this format. He drafted against Curry, Antetokounmpo (twice) and Durant (twice). Team LeBron has won the last five All-Star games.
