The Pasadena Police Department placed Caltech and Pasadena City College on hold for a little over an hour Thursday afternoon, the universities tweeted.
The campuses were under a joint lockdown order as officers worked to apprehend “closeby robbery suspects,” according to a Tweet from Caltech at 4:03 p.m
“If not on campus, don’t come on campus,” the tweet reads. “If you are on campus, please remain where you are until you receive release of the lockdown order.”
Pasadena City College officials tweeted a similar warning at 3:43 p.m., urging everyone on campus to “lock doors and dormitories until further notice.”
At 5:12 p.m., Pasadena City College tweeted that the lockdown was being lifted. “There is no longer a threat to the campus community,” said the tweet.
The Pasadena Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for information.
