Logic remembers Nas trying to sign him
In a recent interview, Logic recalled the time Nas tried to sign him … and realized how broke he was.
“Then I find out that Nas wants to sign me. And I was like, ‘Oh my God! That’s crazy! Nas, my idol, wants to sign me.’ One of the first things he says… I was like, ‘Oh man, that’s a nice room! You got drinks and all that stuff.’ And he’s like, ‘I ain’t got none of that $100,000 wine you’re sipping,’ he said.
He continued, “Because I got that line in there, I think it’s ‘Numbers,’ where I’m like, ‘I’m in the penthouse popping bottles of this $100,000 wine.’ Oof, twitch! And I’m so broke. $100,000 wine? It’s like, are you kidding? like what? But you are on HOC. You depend on food stamps. You’re talking about $100,000 wine? You can’t even buy grapes. [But] I thought that was cool because it’s how he recites my own lyrics to me.”
