Los Angeles Golf Club is 1st team in new virtual golf league

The Los Angeles Golf Club was announced On Thursday, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy became the first team in the technical golf league to be created in cooperation with the PGA Tour.
LAGC is owned by Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams and Venus Williams. In the new TGL league, 18-hole games are played on a virtual course. The events will take place during Monday night prime time at a custom-designed venue in Palm Beach, Florida.
Beginning in January 2024, six teams of three will compete in 15 regular-season games and one playoff.
Renderings released by TGL last year indicated the venue will feature a simulator for players to hit longer shots in, as well as an authentic green area for chipping and putting.
Ohanian is a co-founder of Reddit and a principal owner and founding investor in Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League. He is married to Serena Williams who is pregnant with their second child.
In a statement, he said: “My wife Serena and I are delighted.” [our daughter] Olympia has developed a love of golf so I am proud to announce that they are both owners of this club as well – as is the little one who is on the road! This is another part of the legacy I am building with my family and I hope LAGC can become a part of the lives of many other families as well.”
