Police Commissioner and Mayor Brandon Scott begged any witnesses to the shooting to go ahead and share what they know with investigators. Scott has not said a word about the couple’s murder.

“I could be sitting here tonight and I could tell you a lot of things, but what we really need to focus on is the fact that something caused this to happen, and to be honest, I don’t really give advice. [expletive] what the conflict was like,” Scott said. “We can’t have people shooting at pregnant women in our city.”

The fiancé’s family has also spoken to WJZ, which also did not disclose them because of safety concerns.

Minnie, a cousin, urges everyone to come forward.

“We are sick of killing,” she said. “We’re sick of anyone just hanging around killing whoever they want. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of the city of Baltimore having so many murders that are number one or two of its worst crimes. I pass it.”

“Angel, she’s in the process of bringing another baby into our family,” Smith’s cousin, Minnie, told WJZ. “I lost my cousin.”

Minnie describes her cousin, who has yet to be identified, as a “very loving” man.

Another cousin, Kelly, told WJZ that the couple’s newborn daughter was fighting for her life.

“If you don’t even know if she’s pregnant, I want you to realize that you just hurt a child of God,” she said. “You don’t mess with God’s children. I promise you, it won’t stop. You will be judged. “

Like Kelly, Minnie has words for her killer or cousin killers. “God will judge you for what you have done, and there is no need to hide it. We’ll find out who you are,” she swore.

The couple has appealed to the public for help in tracing the suspects involved.

“Anyone who can give us answers, anyone, just needs to speak up,” she said. “We are sick of killing. We’re sick of anyone just hanging around killing whoever they want.”

“All I can say is, whoever did it, you will be caught. Whoever did this, you will pay for this,” added Kelly.
