They won exactly £46,209,384.50 shares of the £138,628,153 jackpot.

Lottery operator Camelot has confirmed the UK winner has come to claim the life-changing sum.

The lucky numbers are 03, 08, 18, 34 and 49 while the lucky stars are 03 and 07.

The other two winning ticket holders – who will split the rest of the jackpot – live in Switzerland and France.

Andy Carter, Senior Advisor to Winners at the National Lottery, said: “This is absolutely incredible news and we are delighted to have received the request.

“Our focus now is on supporting ticket holders through the process and getting them started enjoying a truly life-changing win.”

The lucky winner of the £46.2m prize is now the richer Benedict Cumberbatch.

The actor known for such roles as Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series Sherlock and Stephen Hawking in the 2004 television series Hawking has an estimated net worth of £30 million.

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize if they have a winning ticket.

Back in February, a lucky Briton won a £7.6m jackpot on a single ticket.

Last year, another lucky winner claimed one of the biggest prizes ever with £171m, making them wealthier than Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

British people who have previously cashed in on EuroMillions include New Year’s Day winner Frances and Patrick Connolly, from Northern Ireland.

They then reveal how they give more than half to helping others.

Builder Steve Thomson also wants to help friends and family after he and his wife Lenka, from Selsey in West Sussex, won £105m in November 2019.
