The hospital turned one of its parking lots into a Deaver Wellness Farm to provide food and healthy recipes to patients in need and to teach healthy eating to children in the area.

WYNNEWOOD, Pa. — Back in the 2010s, Main Line Health Lankenau Medical Center saw a need for its patients that it could fill.

Many people coming in were food insecure and needed lifestyle and diet changes to become healthier.

The hospital decided to convert one of its parking lots into a garden called Deaver Wellness Farm.

Now 40 patients receive a free bag of groceries from the farm every week along with recipes that teach them how to cook healthier.

In addition, the farm works with schools in the area so that children can come out and teach them a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition.
