Man accused of trying to murder two young children

A man is on trial for the attempted murder of two young children.
Dale Clelland was first accused of assaulting a boy in September 2010 when he was about a year old.
The 36-year-old is said to have grabbed the child by the body and held his head under water.
The other boy is believed to have been just months old when he was allegedly attacked in August 2020.
Prosecutors allege that Clelland repeatedly shook the baby.
Both alleged murder attempts are said to have taken place at different locations in Dundee.

Clelland faces a separate charge for injuring a girl on separate occasions between August 2013 and December 2016.
He is also accused of spitting on a woman.
These are also said to have happened in Dundee.
The case required a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow today, at which lawyers pleaded not guilty on Clelland’s behalf.
Lord Fairley has set the trial to begin in March 2024.
Meanwhile, Clelland, also from Dundee, remains on bail.
