Man charged after car ploughs into building in Glasgow amid early morning police chase

A MAN has been charged after a police pursuit ended with a car driving into a building in Glasgow.

Police were alerted around 3am on Saturday by reports of a speeding vehicle on the M8 motorway in Glasgow.

The officers then began early in the morning to pursue the “speeding” engine.

The car eventually crashed into a building on Duke Street in the Dennistoun neighborhood.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident and there was little damage to the building.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the clash.

He will appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court in December.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 3.05am on Friday 28 July 2023 officers were involved in pursuit of a vehicle speeding on the M8 in Glasgow.

“Shortly thereafter, the car collided with property on Duke Street.
“There were no reports of injuries.

“A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

“He is due to appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday 6 December.”
