Man in his 40s dies after wall collapses at house in Manchester

A MAN in his 40s has died after reports of a wall collapsed at a house.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to Lloyd Street South in Fallowfield, Manchester, just before 3pm on Saturday.
The rescue plane was also pictured after landing at Clinton Gardens, a nearby property.
It is assumed that the house on the street has just been renovated.
It is unknown whether the wall allegedly affected was inside or outside the house.
In a statement, GMP said: “At around 2.50pm today, officers were called to reports of concerns about the welfare of a man at an address on Lloyd Street, Manchester.
“It was discovered that a man in his 40s was involved in an industrial accident and, despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.”
“The investigation is currently ongoing.”
Lloyd Street South intersects Platt Lane and runs parallel to Princess Road from Claremont Road.
The house involved is understood to be on the road near the junction with Parkside Road, close to the old Parkside Hotel pub.
Witnesses on site reported a major deployment by the emergency services on Saturday afternoon, a blockade of the street and a shield in front of the house involved.
