A MAN has received support online after a stranger refused to swap seats with him on a flight.
Zack Bornstein was on a plane with his girlfriend when the duo was separated by the airline’s seating plan.
While Zack was given an aisle seat at check-in, his girlfriend had been put in the window seat while a stranger sat between the couple.
Zack, a writer and director, asked if the stranger would mind moving to either the window or aisle seat, but he refused to budge.
The friend took to Twitter and said, “I’ve lost my mind and just offered the aisle seat to the guy who’s sitting between me and my girlfriend on a flight and he said he’d rather stay in the middle seat between us.”
He also claimed to have offered the stranger the window seat as well.
Many people in the comments were taken aback by the stranger’s actions, with one person saying, “His behavior is bizarre and frankly patently oppositional.”
Another person said: “My wife and I would make the middle seater’s life hell for this flight.”
While another passenger had a similar experience in the comments: “An elderly couple shared an entire cheese board with me on a flight to Miami a few years ago.
“I offered to switch, but no, she had to have the window, he had to have the aisle.”
But many online users didn’t support the couple’s actions, as one person said: “Not that it wouldn’t be crazy to stay in the middle seat, but why didn’t you book your seats together?
Another person added: “I hate that couples think they can just choose who they want to move on the plane. Like no, buy your seat, don’t bother me.”
This is not the first time that changing seats on an airplane has caused problems between passengers.
A couple shared opinion online after refusing to move seats for the daughter of a woman who was “scared of flying”.
Meanwhile mom showed how to get passengers to switch seats during a flight.
