Man shot multiple times at 15th and Market street SEPTA station in Center City

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A 19-year-old man was shot multiple times on a platform at the 15th Street SEPTA station in Center City Philadelphia Thursday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 12:24 p.m., police said.

According to investigators, two people exiting a train exchanged views with a third person on the platform. Both the victim and the shooter drew guns.
The victim was shot in the chest, abdomen and right hand, police said.

He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and was in critical condition.

Transit police were on patrol at the station and responded immediately, investigators said.

The gunman managed to escape amid a group of passengers running from the station. No arrests were made.

Regular SEPTA service has resumed at the 15th Street Station.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
