Man Utd fans says the ‘butcher’s back’ as Lisandro Martinez wipes out Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and squares up to Odegaard

MANCHESTER UNITED fans were full of praise for Lisandro Martinez after he knocked out Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.
The Red Devils defeated Arsenal 2-0 in the Premier League Summer Series game in New Jersey, USA thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes.
And one of the game’s biggest talking points was Martinez’s performance when he tried to upset the Gunners.
Bukayo Saka has been treated harshly at times by the defender known as ‘the butcher’ during his time at Ajax.
At one point, Martinez got into a tackle on the winger despite having little chance of winning the ball, for which he received a yellow card.
The challenge drew an angry reaction from Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, who confronted Martinez.
The Argentine was more than happy to set up a clash with the midfielder and fans were delighted with his attitude.
One wrote: “He’s back! The butcher is ready for blood!”
Another added, “They don’t call Martinez the butcher for nothing!”
A third said: “Martinez Butcher even in a friendly way 🔥”

And another said: “Maybe he’s the best defender in the Premier League.”
Martinez confirmed his reputation as an aggressive and no-nonsense defender in his debut season with United last season.
He caused a sensation in a game against Leeds in February after scraping Patrick Bamford’s face with his studs but avoided a red card.
And Martinez is unlikely to change his style after admitting he gives his best on every tackle.
When asked about his nickname ‘Butcher’, the defender replied: ‘I don’t even remember who gave me that nickname at Ajax and why.’ It must be because of the aggressive way I play my game.
“The truth is, I take every challenge like it’s my last, so it kind of suits me.”
“Nonetheless, I’ve significantly improved the way I read the game and make decisions.”
