Man’s death ruled suicide in Seattle fire that killed 3 others

The King County medical examiner found Salvatore Ragusa, 48, dead from smoke inhalation and acute asphyxiation in the September 2 fire.
SEATTLE — The death of a man is believed to be a suicide in a Wallingford house fire that left three others dead.
Police said a dead adult was found in the front and another in the back of the house. An infant and another child were also found dead along with a dog.
The King County medical examiner found Salvatore Ragusa, 48, dead from smoke inhalation and acute asphyxiation in the September 2 fire.
The cause of death and the identities of others who died in the fire have yet to be released.
Seattle Police Says Officers Responded to a home on the 1000 block of North 48th Street at about 9 a.m. to report a shooting. Police said a child had fled the home, contacted neighbors, called 911 and reported that someone had died in the home.

Police said officers arrived at the scene within five minutes but were unable to enter the home and reported it was engulfed in flames.
The SPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
According to the King County Prosecutor’s Office, Ragusa pleaded guilty to two counts of domestic violence in 2020; second degree reckless burning and third degree malicious mischief.
As part of his plea, he was subjected to 24 months of supervision. He must also follow the treatment plan and surrender the weapon, as part of the Mental Health Court’s standard conditions.
This case was closed on February 8, 2022, after he complied with the supervision and treatment appointed by the Mental Health Court.
