Manufacturer Greenland Technologies Selects Baltimore County For New Plant – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Greenland Technologies Holding Corporation, a maker of electric industrial vehicles and powertrains, has selected Baltimore County as the site of its new manufacturing plant, Governor Larry Hogan announced Monday.

Greenland plans to open an estimated 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility on Nottingham Drive in White Marsh. The plant is scheduled to open in July and is part of what the governor’s office describes as the company’s “major expansion in the United States.”

The governor’s office said Greenland plans to “regularly” create full-time jobs at the new facility, noting that Baltimore County’s workforce was one of the reasons the site was chosen, along with its location. location, logistics and incentives.

“Greenland’s cutting-edge technologies will allow the company to easily make its mark in the Mid-Atlantic and continue to grow its presence across the country,” Hogan said in a prepared statement.

Greenland is advertised as one of the leading suppliers of powertrains and drive systems for machinery. The new facility is part of the company’s efforts to meet demand for electric-powered industrial vehicles, the governor’s office said.

As part of the effort, the company filed a notice of intent to leverage Maryland’s “More jobs for Marylanders” program, which gives manufacturers the financial incentives to create jobs in the state.

In a statement, Greenland CEO Raymond Wang said state and local officials “clearly share” the company’s vision for the electrification of industrial vehicles and a mutually beneficial relationship. with Greenland.

“We are delighted and confident that the decision to build in Maryland was based on our extensive selection process. As we have moved forward, our selection has been confirmed every step of the way,” said Wang.
