Maria Menounos spills: She and her husband have a baby on the way

Maria Menounos and husband Keven Undergaro are expecting a baby – and they’re grateful to the ‘beautiful family’ who are helping them with surrogacy.
The 44-year-old TV presenter shared the news social mediawith a video revealing her summer plans with a big smile on Live With Kelly and Ryan.
“They tried to get me pregnant, it didn’t work. Keven had surgery, it didn’t work. He hung me upside down like a chicken, that didn’t work,” a beaming Menounos told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest after breaking the baby news.
The mom-to-be thanked actress Zoe Saldaña and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian for being “so helpful” during her journey. “They both gave me all their advice and people,” she said, and Kardashian put her in touch with an attorney who found the woman who ultimately helped the couple find their surrogate.
“Surrogate mothers are angels, I say it all the time,” Ripa interjected.
Menounos told People that she and Undergaro, 55, are “so grateful to the beautiful family who are helping us conceive our baby.” They had been trying IVF since 2012, she said, and began considering surrogacy in 2018. The couple were heartbroken in 2021 to learn their first surrogate was medically incompatible.
“I definitely didn’t think it would take this long. It’s been years. We used different services and different people,” Menounos told the outlet on Tuesday. “It was just a very frustrating process.”
Days after their New Year’s Eve 2017 wedding, Undergaro told People in 2018, “I really want a baby, but I don’t want it to jeopardize her health.” He said Menounos’ body “went through hell” during years of IVF. The next year, they began speaking to a surrogacy agency.
Menounos’ representative did not immediately respond to the Times’ request for more details on Tuesday.
