Mario DJ dead at 41 – José Mario Duarte shot dead by furious partygoer after ‘he refused song request in nightclub’

An angry partygoer has reportedly shot dead a DJ after he refused to play a song he requested at a club.
José Mario Duarte, 41, was shot dead in Pirapetinga, Brazil, shortly after finishing his performance in a busy local bar in the early hours of the morning.
The musician, known as Mario DJ, was in charge of the music at a party on Sunday as crowds of revelers danced the night away.
He had shared an Instagram post inviting his friends to Bar do Branco and promising he would “only play the best”.
But not everyone was ready for the end of the party when José played his last song and a group of men started to persuade him to continue.
They pressured the DJ to keep another song, and tension soon erupted when he turned down their request for a song.
Witnesses told how the gang began feuding with the aspiring artist before he left the venue a short time later to head home.
At least two of the men followed him on his way back to his home in Santo Antonio de Padua before ambushing the DJ in the dark.
José was horribly dragged from his home at gunpoint by the thugs and reportedly taken to a remote area of Alto do Morro.
He was then shot dead following the music argument.
Other partygoers later identified to police one of the suspects, whom they saw arguing with the DJ at the party.
They told police the man had warned them he would kill them if they dared to report him.
The suspect fled towards Minas but was arrested by officers in Estrela Dalva.
One of his friends who was hiding at the same address was also arrested.
Police later announced that a third man had been arrested in connection with the murder at an undisclosed location.
The investigations are ongoing.
