Marley Spoon Meal Kit Review: Fees and Delivery
The well-designed website makes setting up Marley Spoon delivery a breeze. You’ll start by choosing from a two or four person package. In each pack, you can have up to six recipes per box. The most economical option, six meals for four people per week, goes up to $8.69 per serving. Shipping is an additional $9.99, so the total for the bulk pack is $281.55. The smallest package, with two servings per week, costs $12.99 per serving, for a total of $61.95.
You can choose a specific day of the week for delivery, but be aware that your first box may not arrive for at least a week after placing your order. The service ships to any zip code in the contiguous United States. The new menu is available four weeks in advance and offers 40 choices, from the 20 Minute Honey Mustard Chicken with Broccoli Panzanella Salad to the Vegan Quinoa Vitality Bowl with Tahini-Turmeric Dressing.
The label on each menu item helps you find gluten-free, kid-friendly, and low-calorie options. You can also view the entire recipe, ingredient list, and nutrition facts sheet for each meal before adding it to your box.
Marley Spoon Meal Kit Review: Use Meal Delivery
As soon as your box is shipped, you will receive a delivery confirmation email with a tracking number so you can ensure your food gets to the fridge quickly. It comes packaged in a sunny yellow box, packed with a plant-based insulation liner and ice packs to keep food cool for several hours. The protein in our box was packaged frozen and was still partially frozen when we opened the package. Much of the packaging is recyclable or reusable.
Each meal comes with a large, clear, and full-color recipe card with a stunning picture of the dinner you should expect on the front and step-by-step photos on the back. The recipes take no more than six steps, and many take less than half an hour to make together.
The instructions are easy to follow, with short sentences and bold ingredient names. While some recipes may take longer than suggested on the recipe card, it’s nothing too overwhelming. We had to use several pots and pans for the recipes, which can add up when it’s time to clean up.
Marley Spoon Weaning Kit Review: Taste and Nutrition
We were extremely surprised by how delicious the Marley Spoon meals were. We have high expectations for delicious food photography and appealing meal descriptions
(Who doesn’t want to indulge in the “smooth decadence” of ravioli with its “fleshy mushrooms, fragrant rosemary and sweet carrots”?). But each meal not only looked pretty much like the picture on the card, but was delicious as promised.
We especially love the 20-minute Braised Tilapia with Coconut Turmeric, infused with the intense flavor of turmeric with the mild spice of fresh ginger and the sweetness of cherry tomatoes. Our apartment not only smelled like a restaurant, but the plates looked professional too. Plus, the dish has just eight ingredients and a pretty healthy nutritional profile (570 calories per serving, 15g fat, 74g carbohydrate, and 38g protein). While tilapia isn’t the most flavorful fish (and not our typical pick at the market), the creamy coconut sauce makes up for it. Simple steamed rice rounds things off for a satisfying and comforting meal without being overwhelming.
We also tried the Black Bean & Quinoa Taco, which was a bit more appealing and took almost 35 minutes (despite being advertised as 20-30 minutes). We had to cook the quinoa in one pan, prepare the five vegetable ingredients on a cutting board, make a small patty in a small bowl, slice and bake the tortilla strips in the oven, cook the beans in a second pan, and assemble the cereal bowl with all the ingredients to serve.
The bowls are good, but not necessarily memorable. We could have used store-bought tortilla strips or chips, instead of turning on the oven to make our own, which didn’t necessarily cost us. This vegetarian meal (which would be vegan without the sour cream) contains 770 calories per serving, 29g fat, 106g carbohydrate and 23g protein. The bowls filled up tall and sturdy, even a little heavy with all the beans and grains. Grinding tomatoes and shallots helped cut some of the carbiness.
The third meal in the box, Creamy Mushroom Ragu with Cheese Ravioli, is a treat. There was a bit of prep work, but the dish came together quickly and tasted great. We love the full umami combination of dried mushrooms and tomato sauce. It was too much for two (we even had some for lunch the next day). This meal is also vegetarian and contains 710 calories per serving, 40g fat, 60g carbohydrate and 28g protein.

This is a great choice for a dining set that can feed a crowd. It’s great for those who love to cook but want to make the process faster and easier. The recipes are simple enough for beginners to master yet gourmet. You’ll enjoy a wide variety of flavors and ingredients without the need to go to the grocery store, and the rotating weekly menu keeps things interesting. Products, proteins and ingredients dry to fresh, intact and in good shape.
It also makes it easy to meet specific nutritional needs, such as gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, and calorie-free, without worrying about less-than-tasty meals. While this meal kit is more expensive than other options and you’ll need to pay extra for shipping each week, the convenience of pre-portioned ingredients, a six-step recipe, and delivery dates can vary.
