Marques Houston goes back to “baggage” comments about older women

Marques Houston hopped on social media to clarify his comments about single moms being “red flags,” saying he would never date a woman with kids because she has too much luggage.

“I humbly apologize for the comments I have made and for those I have offended. I have great respect for all women of any age, race or background and my comments in a recent interview were taken out of context,” he said.

“I work with many independent women every day and have the utmost respect for them and what they can achieve in this world and my choice of words or how they were received does not reflect how I see them. So I want to apologize again and I will use this experience to improve myself and the men I am a role model to.”

Speaking to Page Six days ago, he said: “There’s a lot of women my age that I’ve dated, they might have baggage. A red flag for me [was] always with a woman who had a child. Nothing against single women, but single mothers with children are a red rag for me. I tip my hat and respect women who are raising children alone,” Houston added. “But growing up, I really never wanted to have kids.”

Social media torched him.
