The secret affair was revealed a month later, in February 2020, when anonymous letters were sent to the school.

The notes questioned the conduct of Mr Price and the other employee, identified only as Person B, a disciplinary panel was told.

Mr Price was suspended and resigned immediately.

But yesterday he escaped a teaching ban and can continue his new job as senior educational advisor.

An attempt to keep his identity a secret was denied.

Mr Price was Senior Headmaster at Northern House School Academy Trust in Wolverhampton.

Duncan Tilley, who chaired the Teaching Regulation Agency hearing in Coventry, revealed in one of the letters questioning what the two had been doing in Price’s office during the day.

He said: “A review of CCTV footage dated January 27, 2020 revealed that Mr Price and Person B engaged in sexual activity.”

Mr Tilley added: “Mr Price admitted that he and Person B were in his office together for most of the working day – around 3 hours and 50 minutes.

“The panel heard that there had been three assaults on staff and four scuffles between students on the same day.”

Mr Price also admitted to violating the school’s policy on workplace relationships.

Mr Tilley added: “The panel noted Mr Price’s acknowledgment of his wrongdoing. He expressed regret, which the panel felt was genuine.

“The devastating impact his behavior had on him and his family led the panel to conclude that the risk of a recurrence was low.”
