Mase Takes Credit For Biggie’s ‘Mo Money, Mo Problems’

Mase credits Biggie Small’s 1997 hit “Mo Money Mo Problems” on the Life After Death album.

“Puff would go out and party and I’d be in the studio writing the records,” he said on Million Dollaraz Worth Of Game. “And then I just came back and said he was going to say that’s his part or that’s that part, but I was the person that created it all. I mean, from a lyrical point of view, did anyone make the beats, and even ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’ – I made that up.”

Mase continued, “I also came up with the beat. I said, ‘Stevie, we gotta make this beat and do it like this.’ So imagine all these moments that are taken from you, the records, the beats, you don’t get the money, you don’t get the release, you don’t get the respect.

“And I don’t think that’s how you draw when you draw. You know what’s involved, but everyone lets you get away with it. All. When I quit after one album, it didn’t take long to find out that I wasn’t going to be here with it. I don’t care who is here because you don’t pay me and you don’t respect me.”
