Picture An eyewitness reported: “There were two or three loud bangs. After that there was a huge fire.”

They also stated that the fire started at the Atlantic Supersplash track.

Social media users on Twitter responded, “What exactly is burning?” as many were still confused as to what started the fire.

According to local media, witnesses said the park is currently being evacuated.

The park was first built and opened in 1975 but has undergone many changes since then.

Tickets to the park cost between £40 and £300.

It is located in the border triangle Germany-France-Switzerland and is about 54 kilometers south of Strasbourg.

In 2018 there was already a fire in the park, in which the flames reached a height of 15 meters, according to witnesses.

It’s currently unclear how the fire started, but it’s believed it started at a warehouse in the park and then spread to rides.

The flames destroyed the Pirates of Batavia attraction and the Scandinavia area of the theme park was evacuated.

The attraction is the largest theme park in the country and the second most popular in Europe after Disneyland Paris in France.
